Was feeling a little crafty this weekend. So with the help of the internets (wingdings font), Kate’s Paperie (BEST paper store in the entire world), and my trusty Exacto knife, we made a mobile for little baby boy! Black and white pictures because babies see high-contrast the best in the first few months…I like the ladybug the best! Brett wanted the fleur de lit 😉
The "Nursery"
…is nearly complete. By nursery, I mean tiny corner of our bedroom once occupied by a computer, large desk and shelves full of books!
Brett moved the shelves so stuff doesn’t fall into the crib on our baby’s head. The changing table is in place with bins of socks and bibs and onesies. Our crib is pimped out with new green/white sheets and blankets. And we’ve been swaddling the teddy bear (Paul: that’s Joshua Bear in the crib) in his new blankets for practice! Brett did the latest one in yellow. And Sara’s wall prints are in the mail!
Now we just need the baby! (Uh, not yet, he still has 6 weeks of lung maturity to go)
Oh…and a pic of the belly size…
Feets…
Andy and Miya’s wedding…
This was our last trip before baby due date — Andy and Miya’s wedding! It was a short flight and all the festivities were in the hotel, so tired pregnant ladies could sneak out and take naps and go to bed early!
We actually got stranded there Sunday afternoon when our flight was canceled! Ended up checking back into the lovely hotel. I was really uncomfortable Sunday night — felt like my belly was so tense (see total eclipse) and I was really tired. We just ended up sleeping and relaxing for another day and flying out Monday morning!
Sad I am going to miss my friend Adam’s wedding in Seattle in a few weeks, but this is the last flight for a while!
A Total Eclipse of the Head….
This is a twist on the usual progression of the baby bump. Every Sunday for the past few weeks Brett and I took “underbelly” pictures. I didn’t think that my belly would eclipse my head so soon — but it did a few days ago! Enjoy!!
Hamptons July 4th
Had only one nice beach day in the Hamptons for July 4th. The beach was nice and not crowded at all! Ivan dug a hole for my belly and I crawled in and got to lay on my stomach for the first time in weeks =)
Fog Creek on a Boat
Last week Brett’s company, Fog Creek, had a party on a barge on the Hudson river! We took a ferry from lower Manhattan to a barge overlooking the city and the Statue of Liberty. Also in the background you can see one of the waterfalls, by sculptor Olafur Eliasson (4 giant waterfalls cascading from scaffolding around lower Manhattan and under the Brooklyn Bridge)…
Dartmouth Reunion…
Brett and I headed up to Hanover last weekend for our 10th (in reality, 9th) reunion for college. Got to see lots of friends and hang out at our old spots and eat our favorite college foods. Thank you to the gang for our little guy’s first article of clothing — an adorable Dartmouth tee shirt!! You guys are super sweet! He’ll be decked out in Green clothing soon! No pressure for college, little boy….!
….He’s been kicking like crazy since last week! We keep telling him to hold his horses and stay inside to grow more!
It’s a BOY!

… more photos of our baby, now verified as our little man. We had the ultrasound last Friday and he was squirming around, but we still have some nice pictures! He’s about the size of a banana now at 20 weeks, according to my pregnancy books. I’m not feeling any kicks yet, but hopefully soon!
Brett and I went out to Fire Island this Memorial Day. The weather was beautiful, but a bit cold at the beach. The person-to-beach ratio was quite low, and it was nice to have space and relax. Had some nice early morning and sunset picnics on the beach as well as some great seafood (Thanks Lal for the recommendation!)
Fetus’s First Flight….
Brett and I went to Cincinnati this weekend for Sarah Lett’s wedding! Sarah is my good friend and was my med school roommate for 4 years. We also got to see our friends Ritu, Matt and Julie and finally meet Sarah’s new husband John! The weather was beautiful and we celebrated in the sun with the newlyweds!
Thanks to Meggie for loaning me the preggo gear — I ended up wearing the green dress that Meg wore to my wedding (..when she was days away from delivery!)
