Friends and Family II

Here are more pictures as Miles meets more friends and family!

In other news, Miles’s hugeness now requires a size 2 Huggies diaper and he no longer fits in his size 0-3 onesies.

He’s smiling (for real! not gas!) and looking around. He’s much more alert and lots of fun!

Last night was Miles’s best sleeping night! Let’s hope it wasn’t a fluke. He didn’t fuss, slept soundly for 3.5 hours at a stretch, and went right back to bed after feeding. Mom and Dad are feeling refreshed this morning!

More Friends and Family

Grandpa came up for a visit with Auntie Sara last week…Unfortunately it rained and we didn’t get much time in the park, but Miles had many nice naps on Grandpa! Miles also met Ritu, Ginger and more Zete aunties and uncles!

Week 4: Grand Mimi, Sara, Fog Creek Visit, and Zete Uncles and Aunts, Wave 1

Big week for meeting people! Mom was here all week from Hawaii, helping out and getting acquainted with Miles, we all went to Fog Creek to meet the crew there (Kiwi onesie and all), and Miles sacked out like a champ through an entire visit of some Zete uncles and aunts.

More pics….

Sara arrived from England (having just passed her British citizenship exam — God save the Queen!) and finally got to meet Miles! Took Miles to his first dining experience, City Diner on 91st street. He was super passed out the whole time!

Nights are a different story lately as he seems to have flipped his schedule and is more cranky after the 7pm witching hour…we’ll figure it out soon I hope!

Miles also got to meet my cousin Jen, her husband Daniel, and their baby, Carter (2 months old). Miles definitely envied Carter’s bedhead-skater-do. Hopefully the little guys will meet up again soon in California.

Miles’s Grand Day Out…

Friday Miles had his first visit to the pediatrician! Dr. Moreaux is 10 blocks away, a nice walk down Columbus in his stroller. It was fun being out with him, although a little surreal to be pushing a stroller … started to notice all the other families too (had never been on the radar before).

The appointment was fine — his little clavicle is healing up. He’s in the 95th percentile for height and weight (he gained back most of his birthweight and is up to 9lb 13 oz). Everything else checks out ok!

Then Mom and Dad even had time to get a coffee after the visit!

Introducing….

Miles!

Sunday afternoon Brett and I were having a nice sandwich lunch at home. I looked outside at the beautiful day and said, “Baby, today would be a good day to be born!”.

Two seconds later, my water popped! Leaked, really… and we were on our way to the hospital in a cab, at a leisurely pace because it wasn’t the Hollywood style gush.

9 hours and 2 epidurals later (first one wasn’t placed correctly!) Miles Henry Kiefer, all 9 lbs 15 oz of him, came to be! He unfortunately broke his right clavicle on the way out, but the trauma doesn’t seem to affected him at all! He’s eating, crying, looking around and generally being super cute.

Thanks to family and friends for well wishes. We are checking voicemail and email and will try to get back to you. Have lots of family help coming, and we can’t wait to see you all!

Love
Liz, Brett and Miles

12 Days to Go!!

It’s my favorite time of year … nice and cool outside finally (good for pregnant ladies). With 12 days to go, we’re very excited!

Brett and I can’t wait to meet the little guy… at the same time, I am cherishing my afternoon naps and stack of books. Don’t think these kind of days will be plentiful in the future!

Here are some more pics from Mimi’s September visit, recent preggo-big-photos, and the super cute nursery decorations Sara made (thank you soeury!!)….

3 weeks to go!

We are officially term, so whenever the little guy wants to come out, he can! We’re headed to the OB every week now. Our bag to the hospital is packed, with a little reminder to bring the champagne chillin’ in the fridge….

He’s getting big and there is a lot of stretching and pushing on my ribs…! Some pictures of the 9 month bump:
