Miles continues to make the most of his camera privileges, and he’s getting some pretty good shots!
Xavier Is Here!
Xavier James Kiefer is born, is home, and is doing great!
He was born in the early afternoon of Sunday, July 31st, and weighed in at 4.705 . . . kilograms. So 10lbs, 6oz, for those of us who don’t think in metric. He broke his collarbone on the way out, just like his big brother did, but is recovering beautifully.
Liz’s Third Trimester
Liz braved a New York July, 9 months pregnant and with a 2-year-old, and she looked good doing it.
Waiting, waiting, waiting
3 more days to go until the official due date, still hoping baby X will come early!
In the meantime, here are a few pictures from my phone:
picnics and playtime at the 101st street pool!
Summer 2011
Before the big day approaches …
Here are some summer pictures so far — the water has been ice cold at the parks and playgrounds, and Miles and Grandpa have been enjoying the water features.
This morning we had picnic breakfast at 7:15 am and watched all the dogs in Central Park, then headed to Wild Wild West playground to splash in the “stream”.
Miles also got his first “big boy” haircut today at a real barbershop … We brought my iphone and he watched Curious George and got a lollipop when he was done 😉
Those guys were quick, although Miles managed to rub hair into his nose and mouth during the process!

Arizona 2011
Just got back from the Society of General Internal Medicine conference in Phoenix and Miles and Brett came along!
Brett and Miles hit up the Children’s museum where they enjoyed painting a castle, a 3 story jumble of climbing, and a noodle forest (video to follow!).
We got to spend a lovely day with Aunt Rory and Uncle Billy. They took us to a train playground where we sat on a steam train and rode around the park, toured a cool train, and played on the jungle gym. In the evening, Miles gobbled up steak at Rawhide Western Town — his favorite stage coach was the jail stage coach. And he got to pet pigs and goats and ponies! Thanks Aunt Rory and Uncle Billy!
Miles’s Eye View
Here’s what happens when Miles figures out how to use the point and shoot camera:
Spring in NYC 2011
…has so far been trips to the Bronx Zoo, Met, playgrounds, and 59th Street Columbus Circle fountain with Laila!
Pictures from Grandpa John!
Easter 2011
Easter this year was cold on Saturday, beautiful on Sunday…
Miles chased goats, dyed Easter eggs, and got a dump trunk from the Easter Bunny (thanks Uncle Paul for donating your old Tonka truck!)
